A systematic protection against cyber crimes should not be restricted to IT specific measures. But an IT management of cyber risks is not only important for protecting trade secrets. Also statutory law and case law require compliance with security obligations. Rules of privacy (which are going to be revised in a European Regulation) provide that those responsible for data have to protect them against intrusion.
